EyeOn™ Therapy Management

Clotting Factor Therapy

Bleeding disorders are among the most rare and costly diseases to treat. Hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and related disorders are caused by the absence or inactivity of an essential blood clotting protein, or “factor.” Classic hemophilia is characterized by delayed or deficient clotting of the blood, resulting in episodes of prolonged bleeding, usually into joints, muscles and internal organs. Modern treatment of bleeding disorders consists of prompt intravenous factor replacement therapy. Though the affected population is small, factor therapy for each patient with hemophilia averages more than $130,000 per year. Due to the episodic and unpredictable nature of hemophilia, the affected patient or family member plays a significant role in the successful management of the disease. That’s why a specialized home-based self-care program can provide solutions.

EyeOn™ Factor Management

To ensure appropriate utilization, cost savings opportunities, enhanced outcomes and satisfaction with factor therapy, Coram is offering a new program to clients called EyeOn Factor Management. We are one of the leading providers of factor therapy in the country and hold a long record for safe, effective, innovative treatment of factor patients in the home.

Coram’s core therapy management goals for bleeding disorder patients include self-management competency, therapy regimen compliance, less than two percent assay dose variance (vs. 10 percent industry standard), appropriate product dosing and utilization (with optimal therapy results), reduced emergency room visits, reduced hospital stays, optimal weight (per weight-based dosing), disease state knowledge and reduced number of bleeds.

The EyeOn program targets the following areas to maximize savings and therapy results:

  1. Reduction in the “per unit” cost of factor therapy
  2. Prevention of product waste
  3. Reduction in emergency room visits and hospitalizations
  4. Reduction in the number of bleeds
  5. Reduction in the number of infusions
  6. Improvement in long-term outcomes
  7. Reduction in lost productivity

With a commitment to focus on these cost drivers, we can deliver a significant savings on your current factor spend.
